In April 2015 through a rigorous process, nine school-leavers from Kilifi County were recruited for the 2015 KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme School Leavers' Attachment Scheme. During this time students spent a period of 2 weeks at each of these rotation stations:

• The Information Communication Technology group
• The Epidemiology and Demography Department
• The Community Liaison Group
• The Laboratories
• The Hospital Wards

The students were trained how to use a camcorder and made their own films to describe their experiences during their 3-month period at KWTRP.
